Nutmeg Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation will be participating in Giving Tuesday again this year to generate funds to care for wild animals in need.

Giving Tuesday is celebrated globally on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. It is a great way to give support and thanks while celebrating the power of giving. This fundraiser will be based online and ends at midnight on November 29th.

Nutmeg Acres is a non-profit organization that relies on monetary donations from the community. This year we have assisted with over 500 wild animals, including 49 different species: reptiles, amphibians, raptors, songbirds, and small mammals. These injured and orphaned wild animals require food, housing, medicine, and veterinary care. Without help, these animals may have no chance of survival.

Your donation of:

  • $25 – provides medication to treat an injured songbird or small mammal.
  • $50 - provides fresh produce to feed patients for a week.
  • $100 – provides the care and treatment of an orphaned marsupial for one month.
  • $120 - provides one five pound bag of formula.
  • $200 – provides x-rays for a hawk with an injured wing.
  • $250 – provides supplies needed to build a squirrel release cage.
  • $500 - provides one month maintenance food for carnivores.
  • $1000 - provides a new incubator for neonate wild animals.
  • $2,000-3,000 – provides the funds needed to build or purchase a songbird flight cage.
  • $5000+ – provides the funds needed to fulfill fundraising for our semi-aquatic mammal enclosure.

Caring for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife requires adequate resources and a collaborative network of rehabilitators, volunteers, and caring citizens. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are completely funded by our volunteers and by generous individuals such as yourself. All donations are tax dedutible in accordance with the law. If you would like to aid our efforts to help wildlife, please consider making a donation today. We thank you whole-heartedly and the wildlife thanks you as well.
